M&S specialist joins Satra elite

11 April 2003

A leading product development specialist at Marks & Spencer has become the latest member of Satra's elite group of accredited footwear technologists. Dr Peter Glover's research in his bid to gain SAFT (Satra Accredited Footwear Technologist) status took him to manufacturing plants in the UK, Europe and the Far East. His preparation paid off, earning distinctions in each training module! The award has been gained by only a handful of candidates and Peter, at 52, is one of the oldest to have taken all five modules before facing final examinations set by Satra experts. Those modules cover last and fitting, materials and constructions, laboratory testing procedures, product design performance, and quality assurance and supply auditing. Glover said: 'The last time I took any examinations was more than 30 years ago and it is reassuring to discover that I can still learn and retain enough information to achieve distinctions.'
