Leather fashion in Paris

The next edition of Le Cuir A Paris will present all the latest in leather trends for the autumn winter 2010-2011 season. Over 300 exhibitors are expected attend between September 15-18 in hall 4 at the Parc des Expositions in Paris Nord Villepinte.


To date, 20 new exhibitors have signed up for the exhibition. These include companies from Italy, Brazil and Portugal with increased participation from Germany, Turkey and Finland.

Eight national pavilions will exhibit next September including the Fédération Française de la Tannerie et de la Mégisserie (France), Assintecal and CICB/Brazilian Leather (Brazil), Acexpiel (Spain), V.D.L (Germany), Agenzia di Promozione Economica della Toscana and Consorzio Italian Leather System (Italy) as well as APIC (Portuguese Tanning Industry Association).

 

Furniture leather

Le Cuir A Paris will once again include an area devoted to decorative and furniture leather. For the next edition a new agency has been commissioned to design the Archi Cuir forum. This space is being organised in response to the needs expressed by the exhibitors to promote their materials to visitors so that they may discover materials devoted to the home and interior decoration.

Also in, ‘The Village des Créateurs' (Creators Village) work by Audrey Fallope (France) will be presented, she has used her graphic design talents to produce a collection of shoes. Other designers in the village include Marion Courtillé (France) who is a trained cabinetmaker that has transferred her skills to leather and Karine Dauptain (France), who makes isothermal leather bags, combining practicality, aesthetics and innovation and, Francys Saleh (Brazil) will present a collection of shoes and handbags made from exotic fish leather such as tilapia. The Brazilian School of Fashion (Unisul), which will showcase clothes and accessories, produced from recycled leather.

Le Cuir A Paris have also launched a new, more user-friendly and dynamic website. It presents, amongst other things, some background material facts (such as bonded leather, crocodile, peccary) and includes the seasonal fashion trends and new sections. www.lecuiraparis.com
