Japanese advisors visit Sialkot tanneries

Visiting Japanese experts have announced the provision of technical assistance to local manufacturers and exporters of leather products to help purge them of environment pollution by the tanneries through the use of ultra-modern techniques under the world environment protection laws. The Japanese experts Dr Suporn Koottatep and Prof Tayjoohwa (from the Asian Productivity Organization, Japan) said there were bright chances of bringing betterment and advancement in Sialkot's leather industry. They expressed their satisfaction over the preventive measures adopted by leather products' manufacturers and exporters to rid the industry of environment pollution caused by the tanneries. They visited the Cleaner Production Centre, the Leather Products Development Institute and various leading industrial units in Sambrial-Sahowala-Daska, Uggoki and Sialkot city.
