GLM working meetings

19 August 2001

The working meetings on the Genuine Leather Mark (GLM) have been held in Haining, Xinji and Wenzhou. The meetings focused on the standardisation of the application, approval, usage and case arbitration of the GLM. The GLM is a certification mark issued by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) since 1994 to confirm that the products are made from natural leather and are of a medium-to-high quality. Products labelled with the GLM also have an after-sale guarantee. As few as 300 companies have so far been awarded the GLM, including 171 leather garment manufacturers and 120 shoe makers. Registered in 14 countries, the GLM has become a symbol of high quality, reliability and credibility in China and aims to increase competitiveness among Chinese companies in the international market.
