Fast rolling and binding from GER

1 December 2009

Roll-Pack from Italian tannery machinery makers, GER, automatically rolls and bundles leathers and covers them in a film in the warehouse. The machine will be featured on their stand at Tanning Tech this year.

Roll-Pack is equipped with a loading conveyor for the bundle preparation. The bundle is then conveyed to the rolling up and binding mechanism by foot-control. It avoids folds or creases within the internal leathers of the bundle during the rolling up phase. The binding and preparation cycle of the roll is completed in about 17 seconds.
It has been proven under tannery conditions that the machine is perfectly able to roll up leathers following on from a measuring machine, without reducing the measuring machine throughput.
Roll-Pack can used to roll leathers such as sides, whole calf, sheepskins, pigskins, kangaroo, crust and nubuck, etc. Leathers are measured and rolled up in the same working operation without reducing the throughput and provides labour savings.
