Croatian funding for leather industries

The programmes have yet to be endorsed by the government. They have been drafted jointly with the Economic Institute in Zagreb. The leather industry accounted for 0.24% of Croatian GDP and employed 8,100 people in 2005. The share of GDP held by the industry is expected to increase to 0.26% in 2015 as a result of the support programmes. The number of employees in the leather industry is expected to fall to 7,800 by 2015.
