Couromoda continues to grow

1,100 exhibitors took part in the 32nd edition of the International footwear, sportswear, and leather goods fair which ran from January 11-14 in Anhembi park, Sao Paolo, Brazil. The 2005 edition of Couromoda has grown by 20% on last year with exhibitors covering more than 50,000 sq m. In the January 2004 edition, 55,000 visitors from 64 countries placed R$4 billion (US$1.48 billion) worth of orders with exhibitors. The show's organisers have been promoting the event in major markets such as Latin America, USA and Europe with the aim of attracting even more foreign buyers to this year's event. New attractions for 2005 include Couromoda collections, geared towards small fashion companies producing medium price to luxury goods.
