CLRI prepare for 47th LERIG conference

The Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) in Chennai is preparing the 47th "Leather Industry Get Together" (LERIG) conference which takes place at the CLRI in Adyar January 28-30, 2013. This years theme is "GAIN - Global Alliances with Integrated Networking to Gain value for leather."


The topic theme will focus on environmental protection, manpower availability and raw material supply for the tanning industry will be discussed. LERIG will commence on January 28 with the B M Das memorial lecture and a full speaker and poster programme will take place during January 29-30.

LERIG is a conference organised by and aimed the Indian leather industry but is also open to international audiences. The main themes for the 47th edition are as follows:

  • Challenges from leather substitutes
  • Technology and environmental challenges
  • Synergy between national and international trade associations
