CIS free trade zone by end of 2003

26 February 2003

Russian officials say that the CIS member states will have established a functioning free trade zone by the end of this year, according to the RIA Novosti news agency. The establishment of the zone is likely to see the scrapping of customs duties and other barriers to commodities trade. As a result, a big increase in trade of all types of goods, including leather and leather products, is expected between the CIS member states within the next few years.
