China footwear exports still rising

China's General Administration of Customs has reported that China exported footwear worth US$8.23 billion in the first nine months of 2002, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%, according to the Xinhua news agency. China also exported leather and leather products worth US$1.55 billion to the European Union, and US$385 million to Russia, during the same period.
