Bosnian Serb Republic eight-month production

The Statistical Office of the Bosnian Serb Republic reports that the production of leather and leather products in the Republic in the first eight months of this year was 9% lower than in the same period in 2007.


In comparison, industrial output in the Bosnian Serb Republic in the January to August period this year was 8.4% higher year-on-year. Production of leather and leather products in September was 3.3% lower than in August and 0.2% per cent lower than in September 2007. In comparison, industrial output in Bosnia and Herzegovina in September was 2.9% higher month-on-month and 14.9% higher year-on-year. The number of people employed in the Republic's leather industry in the first seven months of this year was 8.5% higher than in the same period in 2007. The average net monthly wage in the Bosnian leather industry in August was US$281, a decrease of 2.4% compared with July. In comparison, the average net monthly wage in Bosnia and Herzegovina in August was US$530.
